I am the same size and weight as you. I have a 1.0 dl and a 1.1 sl both are equally comfortable to me and I see no reason for them to be any bigger than they are. I don't see the need for the extra weight and bulk if not adding to your comfort.

If you want to conserve weight then the 1.1 SL will be fine. I have a DIY in 1.1 oz SL and my "sleeping weight" approaches 250 sometimes (includes me, sleeping clothes, bedding, water bottle, iPhone, backup battery, revolver, extra ammo, clothes for the morning, flashlight, book, whatever was in my pockets, etc. etc.). Just don't "jump" into bed or let two people sit in it at the same time (or anyone over the weight limit for that matter).
However, if you think you might let someone else who's heavier than you sleep in it one day then you'll need to decide on capacity vs. weight.
As for the length, I'm 6'1" tall and never thought my Blackbird was too short. Gotta love that foot box.
Well I bit the bullet . I ended up going with a 1.1 double and a superfly. Now I have to wait... I could have easily gone with the 1.1 single, but I think for the same price, I have a bit more versatility with the double!
Congrats. You'll love it. I have 5 hammocks and I spend more time in my WBBB 1.1 DL than the other 4 combined. It's a great design and you will quickly become dependent on the "shelf".
PS. If you feel a ridge under your left calf/knee area, simply adjust for a little more sag and it will go away. I had to shorten the ridge line on mine to get it right. Once you dial it in, it's a little swaying piece of heaven.
Thanks for the suggestions! I hope it lives up to everything I have been hearing! Now I am going to try and be optimistic that it will be here in time for my trip to Yosemite on the 26th of December!
No mention of the lefty
I don't feel right in the standard most people don't think or care about direction of lay.
BrianDK,
Congrats on your choice. I think you hit it right. While you have a UQ already, having the DL gives you the option of just carrying in a pad if the weather and circumstances are right, leaving you a little more pack space.
Nice that the Mrs. is going to start out in your Double Nest. That's a good starter kit for her. Hopefully she'll like it over going to ground.
All the best and have a great time on your Yosemite adventure in December.

Just Hanging Out !
I use the 1.1 and the 1.7 dbls and at 6ft 2, I find them plenty big.
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !
Get a 1.1 DL. It gives you the best of all worlds - plenty ofo support for you weight and your pack (less bedding and food, it's only gonna weigh4-5 lbs anyway)) as well if you want.
Also takes a pad and reflectix very easily. My DL is amazingly snug and warm with only the little cheapo-blue camp pad from Target. If it gets REALLY cold, you can still 'layer up' with a UQ.
And still gonna be lightweight. What's the BB, 24 oz, rigged and with netting?
