What should an UQ cover, your butt, back, both, or your whole body?

Hangin' everywhere
I like the added warmth of a full length UQ.
Everyone ought to believe in something....I believe I'll go set up the hammock!
Full length under quilts should be from top of head to bottom of feet plus a few inches. Partial length quilts should be shoulders down to lower legs....exsactly where depends on height of the user. You then use a foot pad with a partial to insulate the lower legs.
All of you that's in contact with the hammock will feel chilled by convective heat loss. The quilt does not need to be way wider than the user but consider not just shoulder to shoulder but some area to wrap around as well.

Your size can make a difference. For me at 6ft 2", a 3/4 length UQ is just that, a 3/4 length
UQ. For my wife at 5ft 3, the same UQ is almost a full length.
I use a pillow to insulate my head and so far the TQ has been enough to keep my feet warm.
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !
I'm new to this so haven't quite figured what I'll like best BUT, the philosophy I'm using is go with multi-use gear when possible. I will ALWAYS carry a pillow in some form and I normally want a small sit pad, it just makes sense to me to use those items for insulation as well. Therefore, why would I want the extra weight/bulk of a full length quilt?
That's my theory anyway. Only testing and experience will prove me right/wrong.
