Need quick help ... going to order a WBBB this evening and I can't decide between single 1.7 and double 1.1!
I am 170 lbs and really in the wheelhouse for a good fit with either of these, but need some help deciding.
Thoughts?

I've heard the 1.1 fabric feels softer to the touch; that may matter to you.
There is an advantage to the double, if you plan to use a pad; otherwise not.
That's all I can think of, off hand...
Thanks, all good points.
I'll use quilts and so I won't need a double for the pad, but I still can't decide.
Perhaps there's a weight difference; that may matter to you. It may be more difficult for the mosquitoes to bite through two thinner layers as opposed to one thicker layer -- I'm not certain that is true, but it may be a concern.
In the end, it may make little difference, since your weight fits either one.
Hopefully others will be able to comment.
And I now realize that I posted this same question about 6 weeks ago ... short term memory issues apparently.
I'm 250 lbs and am perfectly comfortable in my SL 1.7. I had a DL 1.1 and found it equally as comfortable. For your weight, it may boil down to cost and weight. Since you'll be using a quilt, go with the SL 1.7 for a little saving both in the pack and on the purchase. JMO.

Even if you are using an underquilt, it might be good to have a DL. I often have a cold spot under my lower back, and it helps to stuff my sit pad under me. The double layer keeps it in place. Also, if you want to use your underquilt at lower temperatures than it was made for, you can add a pad to it.
I also heard that mosquitoes can easily bite through one layer, but find it harder to go through two layers.
Otherwise, it depends on what is most important to you. If weight is a big factor, go single. Comfort is very personal; I like firmer hammocks and would go double - others like their hammocks more stretchy. I like both the 1.1 and 1.7 fabric. The 1.7 feels very sturdy, but has a rougher weave. The 1.1 is a bit softer, but even that changes. Warbonnet has been using different 1.1 fabrics over time. I got a 1.1 this summer, and it is a bit stiffer than the one I had 2 years ago.
If you still cannot decide, toss a coin. Or order both, try them out, sell the one you like least. With the sale price right now, you won't even be making a loss

My forum name is Fish<><; I'm in the navy; and I hate sleeping on the ground. If I didn't need ground to walk on or measure resistance to, I think I could happily give it up.
The double works better if you need to stick insulation in the foot box area. I think the double just gives you more options.
At 170 you could save some weight and get the 1.1 Single layer
