    Sock and/or Tarp and/or UQP?

    I pretty much use a tarp all the time. Keeps the bird poop off me.

    When I saw Pauls comment about not hanging the tarp this is what went through my head. I sometimes lay in my hammock during the day and listen to the little things hitting my tarp and think what it was that would have landed on me.

    don't get me wrong, I would love to go topless when I hang but the stuff I clean off my tarp in the mornings has me convinced otherwise

    Amen to that. Here in Texas, fall/winter means trees are blowing sap. I have a Hennesy Hex I've only hung half a dozen times and it has a nice thin and slightly tacky coat of tree sap.

    For me, hanging from trees means tarp up.
