    Are you kidding?

You already have a down UQ. Take this puppy for a spin. If it gets too cold, just go inside. Or, if you have a fleece blanket, you can use it as a liner first, then this new awesome TQ.

Either way, you can bail if you need to. We won't hold it against you.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

You're absolutely right! I am inspired. I just called my buddy and we are hanging in his backyard Saturday night. I just gotta use this thing! Its supposed to get down to 16. I gotta test some winter gear anyways. I guess I just needed a little push in the right direction!

Lol...not quite! Quilts are a project! I have tremendous respect for those who make these on a regular basis. I do make a lot of hammocks for my friends and their friends and their friends and so on... but hammocks are cake compared to a quilt!

    Looks awesome!

I have some questions about your 1.1 ripstop -- I am planning my DIY TQ and UQ, and am trying to make fabric decisions:

    - As far as feel, is the ripstop good? Some threads have suggested that the ripstop is kinda clammy, but softer fabrics like M50 and M90 are probably a little out of my budget

    - Where did you get your ripstop from? I have ordered sil from Noah Lamport (cheapest around AFAIK -- $3/yd for seconds); does he do the calendared ripstop as well?

    - Also, some threads talk about ripstop with DWR -- did you use that for this project or know of its pros and cons?

Thanks for helping out an aspiring DIYer and congrats on the quilt!
