BBO (Bear Burrito Oven) VS. Tarp Door Kit

Looking to beef up my winter setup a bit, especially for higher wind scenarios. Would it make more sense to add a Bear Burrito Oven to my W. Blackbird?
    http://www.arrowhead-equipment.com/a...originals.html

Or add the door kit to my Big MambaJamba tarp?
    http://www.warbonnetoutdoors.com/tarps.php

Also, if you answer is the door kit. Is the door kit as good as the superfly? Or should I just save up for that?

    Thanks for the replies!

I will suggest a breathable 2QZQ UQP and have Donna sew on a set of doors on you BMJ at the same time.

The BBO is very inventive, I owned one, and works great on cold spring/fall days above freezing with wind
but it needs away to be vented below 32F so your breath is not trapped inside the hammock.

    neither

A sock would be warmer than the BBO. If you are already using an under quilt protector then adding the BBO is effective.

Combination of BBO and under quilt protector:

    BBO - Cost $75 and 6.5 oz.
    2QZQ UQP - Cost $35 and 6.3 oz.

Warbonnet sock - Cost $85 and 9.3 oz.

The BBO will be warmer than the doors. A smaller volume is easier to heat than a larger volume.

I like this suggestion even better than mine and the sock can be vented to prevent condensation collecting inside.

A small opening is all that it takes to vent a sock. Make that two openings - one low and one high. I use my gloves low in the zipper to create a small gap and my socks in the velcro at the ridgeline. It creates a chimney effect.

Sometimes you are going to get condensation regarless of what you do.

The cure for condensation is air flow, aka wind.

    Thanks

Thanks for the quick replies guys. So you both agree the UQP adds a noticeable amount of wind blocking and warmth? I guess it is like wearing a shell on top of your down jacket. Anyways thought I would share this picture from last weekend! Awesome weather up in the mountains.

Nice picture! If you have to do either or, then a UQP and BBO or a sock would give you warmer results than the doors. The Superfly is my winter tarp. Consider saving up for one.

A BMJ is a superfly sans doors. They are the same size.

The Warbonnet Sock was used by many at last years Colorado winter Hang. All loved it.

As a owner of a BBO and a Warbonnet Sock, I would lean towards the sock
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !

I've been experimenting with a BBO type clone for my DIY 11 foot BIAS type hammock. Works great with the UQP and is a little less cumbersome than the sock. The quilt protector is one of the better investments in hammock gear. I use mine year round, both for warmth and protection of the underquilt. Nights here are cool to cold, even in July/August.
