    Talking Fantastic Service

Just got an email from Ed Speer.

I had ordered some 1.1 ripstop in Feb. Opened it the other day and it was a little short. Emailed Ed and he is sending out a replacement.

Cutting fabric, or anything, a little short happens to the best, what separates the really good from the rest is what they do when it happens.

Ed's service has always been the very best.

I highly recommend Ed to everybody.

Everyone seems to have the opposite experience, but while HH replied to my questions within minutes on a Sunday and in a very nice way, I still haven't heard anything from Speer since I sent an e-mail 3 days ago.
When I ordered from him today I got a short mail confirming and saying the shipping date, but maybe it was automatized; I replied to it with some questions and he hasn't replied yet.

Maybe it's just the internet generation gap, they say that once upon a time people didn't check their e-mail every 10 minutes.

People who mailed Ed, did you use his personal e-mail instead of the general one?

I generally use the "Ed@" address, but never had problems with the "Info@" either. I may be able to offer some of the reason. I spoke with Ed a couple of days ago about the down group buy for this year and told him I was getting a lot of early interest. He said that his September was very busy and asked if I could wait to start the group buy in October instead. He is probably out looking at rocks.

Always a price to pay. When working with cottage shops sometimes their real jobs, school, adventures, or their vacations get in the way of our gear addiction. It'll be worth the wait.

Yes I'm sure it will. I don't want to complain or sound whiny, I'm just a bit too excited about this after spending full days on HF deciding what to buy...

    Ed's out hanging.

I talked to Ed a couple of days ago when I ordered my underquilt and he said he would be gone until after Labor Day so that is why he hasn't replied.

Sorry for the delays---Karen & I have been visiting family in Florida the past week; will be back at work Tuesday. I have very limited internet access here, so I use my Blackberry to send short confirmation emails to orders coming from the Speer Hammocks website. We'll be back to work Tuesday processing and shipping all those orders. The Summer Sale continues thru Monday (Labor Day), so any orders placed online via our website until then still qualifies.

Thanks to everyone for their patience

    Happy Hanging....Ed

I use to like to get my fabric from Thru-hiker and my down from Speer. Before my fabric ships, Ed always has my down delivered. Now I just startd getting my fabric from Ed too. Down doesn't do me any good when i haven't even started the shell. Maybe Ed could start selling momentum. Naw that is an exclusive Thruhiker product.

I should add that there was a note on the Speer website all along saying "VACATION", not noticing was my bad.
Too busy looking at all the beautiful gear.
