    Greetings from Cincinnati

I've been lurking here a while on the forums. So much knowledge and experience! Last Spring I bought a HH Explorer Deluxe. I've slept out in it maybe a dozen times this year. Most of those nights were in the back yard, but I did a couple of solo overnight hikes as well.

So far, I've slept with a Thermarest CCF pad and a cheapo Coleman sleeping bag. I've just bought a WB Yeti UQ though because I want to keep sleeping out through the Winter.

I'd love to go on some organized trips with you guys. My experience level and gear is pretty basic. Getting to hang with you guys would be a great learning experience.

Welcome to the forums from Dayton!

Check out this subforum (https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...play.php?f=114 )for postings about local group hangs. I attended my first one back in November in Germantown and it was a great experience.

Hubby and I are "camping" in the backyard tonight and hoping for some of the promised snow to test gear in.

    Happy Hammocking!

I just bought a Yeti 3/4 UQ today. If I had it, I'd totally be sleeping outside tonight too.

Welcome from across the river. Congrats on the Yeti, I am still saving up to buy a legitimate UQ. One thing I noticed in my short time hanging, when your legs are cold your core will soon follow so take a leg pad of some sort. Also, I have been reading up on sleeping with a warm water bottle to keep warm as well. Not sure of your knowledge, but just a heads up on where I am in my learning curve.

Thanks, Jacob. I've been using a CCF pad for a while. I cut it almost in half and then turn it side ways so it wraps my shoulders. I'll just keep using that as a foot pad.

With this weather we're having, I'm anxious to get the yeti and try it out

After 8 straight nights of inadequate insulation I have found that a cold night sleep is no fun. Can't wait to hear how it goes, better you than me. I will NOT be going out until it warms up or I get some better equipment. Best of luck! What degree rating is your Yeti?
