Love is blind. Marriage is an eye opener.
WC says a low tonight of 10* so it will be a good test of my new DIY winter tent-sock:
Since I did not yet complete my summer UQ I've nothing to stack with the Marmot mod UQ for frigid temps so will employ an alpaca fleece. With down parka, down bootie, balaclava, and wool hat ...

over here on the east coast, the cold will be rolling in tomorrow s-pose to get down to 16°F Wind W 6 mph where we'll be sleeping tomorrow night.
Talox, are you sleeping out?
My night was good last night. Here is the view this afternoon, after knocking the ice off when I got up. I was toasty all night in my 0° Zeppelin and my overstuffed 20° Flight Jacket. I woke up early to the sound of snapping branches and but did not succumb to any. A small tree fell next to my hammock but it was a baby. My electricity was out all day but was restored just before sundown. I was more comfortable in the hammock overnight than in my house by early afternoon. Good times in bad weather.
Not crazy about the Glider yet but it held up to being glazed in ice without issue. (Have a Winter Dream on order so the Glider won't get much use...)
It got down to 16 degrees overnight here. I moved my hammock out from under the patio roof and set up my tarp, for a bit more accurate testing. I was absolutely fine temperature-wise. Even got up and took a potty break at one point. I don't know if I'll try again tonight; a regular bed is sounding pretty nice and the temp is forecast for single digits. But I'm tempted. In any event, I'm now confident that I can sleep out comfortably in lower temperatures. Success!
I feel like I am home, I just adore the Snow, we get so little of it here in the Willamette Valley. This cold snap is extra nice because it is cold enough that the snow is now like "White Rain", Portland is not as cold as Eugene, but it is cold for here. I did not sleep out in the snow storm, because I have a bit of the flu, everything aches.
At home I have a hot tub that is in a glassed in area, I can sit in the hot water and watch the blizzard swirl around me. I do not have the words to describe how delicious the feeling is to be warm and bare, watching natures show of ice and wind.
I think I am going to see what my new set-up will do tonight, I think it will be in the teens. I know I am Okay down to 35 F. I have added a few extras, so I will see what tonight shows (I just bought a thermometer for my hammock).
Go for it, IronFish, I'm staying in tonight though I hate to pass up the chance to try single digits. Post us a pic tomorrow.
