    I can finally breathe...

Made this thread to explain the amount of relief one feels after selling unwanted gear. Since I've joined the beloved HF I have done nothing but purchase gear. Mainly in attempts to find what I wil need for my upcoming Thru.

After a much needed cleansing of the gear closet I've narrowed my gear down to 1 complete hammock hangin' rucksack. It took several purchases, hundreds of hours researching, youtubing, trialing in the backcountry and now, finally selling unwanted's. (Got rids of two threads worth of gear, sales just ended this morning)

Thanks to the forums, I am completely on top of the gear that I need to...

    1.) Thru-Hike the AT
2.) Backpack where ever, when ever, for however long I want
3.) Stay perfectly comfortable and lightweight in the backwoods

Of course, nobody is done improving their pack. HOWEVER, all the worries I had about finding the right gear for me & having too much sitting around has come to an end.

Much love, and many thanks from STL.

Love them! (Still impressed with craftsmenship) Even though there is more line, they are still lighter than my amsteel UCR's. I may never go back to amsteel now... Plus lime green whoopies on a blaze orange hammock is mighty attractive. My only regret is that I didn't think of them first!

Hey thanks a bunch! I have been tinkering with dynaglide UCRs, they are super light. I think i need to fiddle with the bury length though, dynaglide is to slick and they keep slipping with a 10 in bury might have to bump it up to a 12in. Thanks again for your kind words!

It would be great to see your gear list; always interested in what others feel are their "optimized" setups!

I will throw together the gear and draw up a list, but won't have a chance to get into details until tomorrow. I have a day-long hike tomorrow but will have time in the morning to head down to the local woods, set up camp and do a more detailed rundown of how I hang and why. Thanks, y'all

Alrighty, made it to the woods, and took a video of a rundown of my shelter, not all of my gear. Not how I had planned it to go, this was my first 'on camera for the world to see' appearance. Needless to say, there were many out takes and mistakes. That combined with a rushed trip, and an almost dead camera I feel I did alright. Learned alot, but now I am fiddling with windows movie maker to get this clip looking halfway decent.

Was a grand learning experience, looking forard to being able to take videos that give more details about my gear, and how I made them work for me.

In the process of some quick editing, then I shall upload... Cheers
