    stuffing

This is the first I have heard of people 'stuffing' their tarps. I have always folded my tarps, and I have not seen any signs of wear on the folds. I would of thought you would be more inclined to damage a tarp by stuffing it.

I have never 'stuffed' a tent either.
However I do stuff my hammock and sleeping bag.

Guess we all do things differently!
    enjoy whatever you do!

Skin and stuff the hammock, then pegs. Stuff the tarp and ridgeline in a mesh bag. If/when the tarp is dry, it joins the hammock in the main stuff sack. Rainy forecast or wet stuffed tarp = mesh bag on outside of pack.

Guess I'm still new enough that I marvel at it all fitting into one bag.

I skin mine, then stuff it into an outer pocket or just under the lid for fast access. Three years, no problem---the MacCat is still going strong.

On the trail I stuff the tarps, hammock, and sleeping bag. Based on the article quoted I may start looking at rolling my sleeping bag. I hate trying to fold up damp flys and tarps though. I'll stick with stuffing them while out on the trail.
