We finally got us our first "real" snow down/up/East/West here in the ol' KY. Got to go out and play in it a bit. I give you my little ode to the hammock (with a nod to Shug who got me started on this awesome journey!)
Lyrics
I spent a long long time, laying on the ground..
Yea the tent in my pack sorely weighed some pounds
I opened my eyes, and what did I see?
A man from Minnesota swinging tree to tree
A thin piece of fabric, suspended in the air
Should I even try it? Man should you even dare?
I grabbed two straps and a couple of toggles...
How this would even work, my mind began to boggle.
On the knot, (not the toggle!) was his advice,
suspended in comfort man it felt so nice...
How long did it take? How did I survive?
That's when I decided to pimp my hammock ride.
Dutch bling, whoopie slings, and DIY
Got my hammock ride, looking superfly (heh)
HammockGear quilts and some Cuben Fiber
I feel my pack getting a little bit lighter.
Bugnets, underquilts, man I love it all
(just check your gear for fraying, you don't want to fall!)
Set your ridgeline to get that playa' sag.
Roll it all up, and throw it in a bag!
Out in the snow, and even when it's muddy,
from deep inside I felt a "Whoooo buddy!!!"
I think it's safe to say I've caught the hammocking disease
Cuz that's how I hang baby, 30*
Hope you guys enjoy!
