    Hi fellow hangers.

I Would like to make a UQ, ore two.

I have non at the moment, and never have had.

    I live in Denmark, Scandinevia.

Our Winther temp goes Down to max -20 deg C. Thats about -4 deg F

I Was thinking, what do i need. Do i need 2 ore 3, to keep me going a year, and what temp ranges do you guys have?

I wanna make it with Down, so what fabrik should i use to that, does it has to be Down prof? What is Your experience?

Then the measurments, i'm 183 cm tall.
And Was going aften a ful length, bur how loong is that? And how wide?

WOW, thats a lot of Q's.
    Shure there's more.

Hope to learn from you guys.

    Thanks, Jobbe

Living little bit north from where you are. Temps here are going down to -40 celsius (though haven't been camping with colder than -30 Celsius).
I'm making my first UQ, used UderquiltCalc excel file to do this. It should be fit for -14 degrees Celsius (6 Fahrenheit). Hopefully I can use it in summers also, but for colder nights I hope I can use UQ+sleeping pad combo.
    For fabric I used this:

    And I hope it's OK.

I didn't go for full length UQ, made 140 cm long one. Under legs and head I'm hoping to use somesort sitting pads I have. Also haven't had any problems with cold feet while sleeping.

Does anyone know how "experimental" the temp rating/loft is in that spreadsheet?

Well, it's certainly not completely scientific, haha! Basically I used the published temp values and design specs for some manufactured quilts and came up with a formula that fit the curve of temperature rating vs. a combination of overall loft and down density. It then uses that formula to calculate the theoretical "factory" temp rating of your designed quilt based on the baffle size/height and volume of down you've plugged into the spreadsheet.

Keep in mind that temp ratings are quite academic in nature and your personal comfort level may vary greatly.
