    New from North Alabama

Just purchased a Hennessy Expedition Asym Zip with the Hex fly. I also went ahead and order (but haven't received yet) the Super Shelter.

I have slept one night in a hammock in the past and really liked it.

I will be interested in learning more and possibly getting a TQ at some point soon.

Hoping to get out and test for temperature thresholds soon (backyard), then ready to get out and try on the trail.

Welcome to the club! Don't rush on your gear... stick around and absorb the wealth of information and then you can go looking for whatever fits your needs. Are you going to be primarily a Spring to Fall hanger? A 4 Season hanger? What is the lowest temp your are prepared to hang in? All of these questions and more will play a roll in what type of TQ you will need. Do you have a mummy bag with a foot box in it now? You can use that as a TQ. Just unzip it and flip it and us it like a blanket putting your feet in the footbox. May want to put some duct tape on the zippers so that they don't poke a hole in the hammock fabric. I dont think they will if they are nice and rounded zipper pulls but it is still not a bad idea. Cheers and happy hangin!

No plans to hurry on things. Just like to know things that I feel I might need later. I went ahead and got the SS so that I could test my cold weather limits with it. For now, I have no idea what those would be.

Welcome from a temporarily non-hanging Annistonian! When I recover from lumbar fusion (May-ish), I'll get back on the Pinhoti, if you care to hang out!
