I've skinned my hammock and tarp separately. Is it okay to compress the two of them down to reduce bulk?

certainly. no harm can be done by just commpression. but youll probably want to store them separetly it the tarp is wet.
Hi all,
New hanger here.
We're heading to the Knobstone Trail (So. Indiana) in about 10 days and upon initial setup of my HH Explorer Deluxe, I noticed that the Snakeskin didn't fully extend due to size of the plastic tip (?) at each end of the hammock (where the rope connects to the hammock). The Snakeskin stops about 4" short of covering the entire length hammock. The skin will surely rip if forced over the tips any further and there is plenty of "Skin" left on the rope-side of the "tips".
Is there a "trick" to using the skin on this model or a better option for the Explorer Deluxe? They seem to work fine on my nex Expedition ASYM.
Thanks.
I found that problem with my Explorer Deluxe as well. I was always able to carefully sneak enough of the snakeskin over the attachment point but it was definitely snug. I would say that as long as you're careful, it will work. But I don't know how long it will hold up.
+1
It's absolutely fine to skin them together. That is how they were designed since the stock tarp shares the same suspension with the hammock. Nuttysquirrel's point is the reason why many of us hang and store our tarps seperately from the hammock. That way it keeps from getting the hammock and other gear wet. It also simplifies a quick tarp deployment for shelter without having to set up the hammock too as well as providing a dry space to pack everything prior to taking down the tarp.

+1 on keeping the tarp separate from the hammock. If you get caught in a down pour it's better to have the tarp separate and ready to go.
