Yikes, now I know why you can't find it there seems to be alot out there. Maybe this one?https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...ad.php?t=54911

I had a quick read and it seems to be the only one with a positive outcome..... others not so much. (I looked because I liked the idea and I didn't think of it.).

read the whole thing. Original poster seems a little dissapointed with his tieouts coming out after a rainstorm. Aardvark, posted in there and his setup seems to be the complete package.

If you don't mind spending a couple extra $$, I've been real pleased with 3 months use of the soft tyvek. It's about 25% lighter than house tyvek and it's very quiet (it's more like a cloth). Here's what I used:

P.S. I used it for a sock, not tarp, but it seems plenty strong enough for tarp use (I'd put the RL under the tarp). Also, use the Tyvek tape - one roll will last you a lifetime.

I made one some time ago, and recorded it on video.
After taking it on several trips, I'm not too happy with it.
Quite bulky and with a downpoor it soaks the water a bit up, so it is heavier and damp then.
If still interested, it's a 2.5 by 3 meter tarp, you can find it on my blog in the diy section: www.dabberty.com

I use a 9x9 piece pitched diagonally in the summer as a sun shade in the yard.
Noisy when windy. The only way I have been successful on tie outs is to use a large marble tied into the tarp to tie to.

Ditto on the 9x9 diagonal with marbles. My son's been using his for 4 or 5 years this way. Mine still gets used as a loner since I moved on to an 11x11 nylon tarp.

I made a tyvek winter tarp design last year but the tyvek tape tie outs for the ridge line failed twice after only 3 uses. This was just a test to see if I liked the design, which wasn't bad but I would have liked more than 9' width so it could get closer to the ground on the sides to block wind better.
You'll find me hanging somewhere in the sunshine state.
