Back in June a friend of mine and I made a trip to BCSP in NEOH via bicycle. As we were "dirtbagging" at a campground for a sub-24 hour overnight trip (S24O) I went with a father's day gift Grand Trunk Ultralight hammock (no tarp, net, or UQ). My friend roughed it by using a picnic table cloth as a ground sheet, and a simple sleeping bag.

We rode down from northern Portage county, leaving around 10:30. After around 60 miles of pedaling we got there with plenty of time to set up (and have a few hard-earned libations. They ended up being more of a sleeping aid.

The trip was thankfully uneventful other than the fun of a longish bike ride. I learned that I need some form of bottom insulation even as the night low was still above 60*F.

Results: winter sewing plans include a tarp, quilts, and a net. (It won't always be as bug-free as that trip.) Might even sew up a double layer hammock.
