Van Camp Pork & Beans?
We also found a couple of cases of beer in a stream, but we figured they belonged to the fishermen camped nearby.

Me and two buddies hiked down Pinch In Trail and hauled in a BBQ Pork Butt and kept it in the river to keep it cool. We ate off that for 3 days .. with no vomiting on the 3rd day!
This was in the early 1990's before going lightweight..... We used to bring bottles of liquor too in those days but all of us being former Scouts we always packed out our trash!!!

Shug, you didn't happen to leave a half bottle of Irish Whiskey in the little eyebrow cave under Razor's Edge Point did you?
Believe me .... we never left anything in the bottles. They were empty long before we packed 'em out. The first two days or daze in were big parties.!
Still my fave trip was hiking the length of the Gorge in 1996 ....

Slowhike, I have your umbrella... we left it in my truck when we unloaded your stuff.
Anyone else use a backpacking umbrella? I kinda like it!

Ahhh... thanks. I'll get w/ you on that.
One of the very best times I had using an umbrella was when it was to warm to wear a jacket, but going to be to cold when we got to camp to be soaking wet.
It's kinda like hiking under a porch<G>!
I'll bet if you search it, you'll find some past talk about using umbrellas here on HF.
I too will something make and joy in it's making
