How to carry a HH silny Hex Fly

What's a good way to carry the HH Hex tarp (sil) so that it can be pre rigged to quickly deployed if needed ... like separate snake skins for a HH Asym Tarps.

I assume some one's done something better or snake skins for the Hex by now.

I made a long tube of mesh, about 6" deep, and as long as the ridgeline for my JRB tarp.

Something like this should work just fine for the HH hex tarp.

The advantage to the design is that the tubed tarp folds easily when packing up. I start at one end and fold over every foot or so. I've got a couple of shock cords attached, they wrap around the bundle to hold it in place.

Thanks Grizz looks good, I like it.

    Assume it's one long tube?

6" deep -- means when flat it is 6" wide or is this the dia?

What's the approx width of your tarp, the Hex is 11' ?

I just use a set of snake skins on the HH hex. Too easy!

yes, one long tube. Laid out flat, finished, 6" high and 11' long. The reason I made it as wide as this is so the tarp can flatten out when folded

I used snakeskins on one trip and found the long skinny thing a bit cumbersome to pack on the inside, or out. Personal preference of course.

My JRB tarp is 10' x 11', I typically use the long edge as the ridgeline. Another foot of width here isn't going to make any difference on the tube dimensions.

I second that, even though one large snakeskin is in my future DIY proyects, to see how different it would make things than a pair. I have the Poly Hex, and snakeskins definitely make it easier to handl.

    Grizz-
    That'll do it.
Today, right after I buy the wood and make a 10' x 20' x 12" raised garden frame (dirt's rotoed & in place) and install the drip system.

I tried conventional Snake skins and it handled like a bowl full of Jello without the bowl.

Guys/ gals, pardon my newbieish first post but I am going to order the hex to go with my explorer deluxe and was curious what size snake skins you guys are using? I know the hex has to bo packaged seperatly, but I have no clue what size to order with it (and google did not help), but it did lead me here. Thanks in advance.

I ended up calling and they suggested a snakeskin size 3 since it is longer than a 2 since the hex fly is so long. Just incase anyone else googles across this, I hope if helps.
