I'd like some input on my insulation plan. I have a double layer 1.1 blackbird. I'm planning on buying a 3 season Yeti whenever they're available. I also want to try a top quilt. I think I want a JRB Hudson River.
That way I can use it as a top quilt with the Yeti. Or, I can use it as a bottom quilt if I bring along the wife and then we'd both use our sleeping bags.
My concern is whether or not it will be too warm with both the Yeti and the Hudson River as the lows get up into the 60s and the highs into the 80s here in KY.
One of my main reasons for choosing the Yeti is to get my pack weight down into the ultralight range of less than 15lbs total. So, another option would be going with a lighter quilt but that would only save about 3 oz.
Does this sound like a good combo?
Thanks for any replys!
