    Toasty Warm

I finally got a good test of the quilts last night, with overnight temps hitting -10*F/-23*C. I was wearing a synthetic base layer, and a vapor barrier sweatsuit, and wool socks. I was toasty warm all night, and even had to loosen the collar on the top quilt to keep from overheating.

I was venting the top quilt this morning to cool down a little, feeling disappointed because I thought that it must not have gotten as cold as predicted... until I got up and checked the thermometer. This set is VERY warm.

Great to hear about the successful test! I'll be working on some minor modifications to my set to try and make it less drafty through the top.

    It Packs! (Sort of)

Here are a couple of pics of the top quilt packed in it's compression sack. I set a 2L bottle next to it for comparison. Thank goodness this thing will be going in the pulk, I don't think I'd have room for anything else if I tried to put both quilts in a pack.

I'll get a picture of the under quilt as well, but it is drying out from the huge temperature swing with rain last night.

It's looking pretty similar to the size of mine. Just finished the pulk today. The quilts should take up half of it. can't wait to see your set out there.

That huge TQ fits pretty good into a compression sack for so much coverage and low temp range. Good thing for pulks.

Can we see a pic of both the quilts and then how they look in the pulk. Not too many pulks down here in FL.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you
