    Hi from Moab, UT

Hi everyone. I've been stalking the forum for weeks now gleaning info. Thanks everyone for all the discussion, and advice. I saw a friend post a picture a year ago on Facebook of his HH and was fascinated. I've yet to make the jump to hanging, but did borrow a friend's hammock in October and slept in the backyard. I felt like I was being rocked to sleep. We'll see if this is the year I get off the ground.

Two things, First off welcome to the forums. Whether you hammock camp currently or not, this is the best place on the internet to find information on this hobby. If you want the easy breezy way to get elevated, cotton sheet from your bed, some rope, and a poly tarp from walmart will get you off the ground. Cheap, easy, and it gets the fire going. word of advice though, it is highly addictive once you start toying with this hobby.

secondly, I love the moab area. I lived in SLC for a couple of years in my teens and went to moab on several occasions. Close to my favorite part of your state. (only Big cottonwood canyon beats it) Can't wait to go back some day to your state...

My forum name is Fish<><; I'm in the navy; and I hate sleeping on the ground. If I didn't need ground to walk on or measure resistance to, I think I could happily give it up.

Moab is great. The only problem is everyone comes here to play and I came here to work, which gets in the way of my playing.

The addictive part is what has kept me from making the jump. I'm worried there's no going back once I begin.
