My personal tastes aside, what is the benifit? I don't think it is any more stealthly overall than a the grey sil tarp. I'll admit it is more stealth in a wooden enviroment. But I think it can less less stealth in other areas.
I got lost on that one Coffee
Some find the Camo visually pleasing, and yes out side the woods it doesn't blend.
Grey sil glows in the early morning light.

I'm just not a big camo fan. I don't see the need or like the look for hiking and camping use.

Actually, I've got plenty of money going out in the next couple of months getting a new this and that. I think I may be able to restrain myself on this one, mostly cause I already have half a dozen tarps.

Bad enough that the Denver Flagship REI is only a 20 minute drive from my home or my office. I'm in there at least once a week, but I've gotten pretty good at 'window shopping'. Ain't easy!

I like the subdued colors, not necessarily the camo stuff. A slate green would be right up my alley. SWW is totally right about the light in the mornings. Love my blue SuperFly for late sleeping. Course, it's also the reason I usually 'hike' with a grey tarp. I can sleep real good if it's dark, not the greatest thing when you want miles.

I can see the light tarp thing. I woke up a few times on full moon nights thinking it was morning. Next tarp is not going to be white.

I like the newer digital camo patterns. They have a softness to them that works with the natural environment. Sure you can easily notice them close in, but from a distance I think it becomes less visible. I believe the military's goal was to break up a silhouette beyond 200yds. But for me the attraction isn't about the military look.

It's all esthetic. I like to blend in and large same color objects aren't "natural" unless you're a rock. From time to time, I camp in places I'm not supposed to be.
