So last night testing out my new UGQ 20*Zeppelin in 16*is just a joke. Oh well at least the gear did it's part and worked like a charm.

Not fun unless it is -12º or colder. Sleeping in that cold AND watching water boil is a big party …these days.

Yes you do. Post when you do.

Your winter videos make me feel like a wimp :>) Cold for me is 20F to 32F. When the forecasts are below 20F and I stay home.
At a certain temps you got to fill the top gaps...

I think I'll just stay in and watch a few more Shug videos.
Believe me…it is nice once you crawl in and wiggle a while))))

I reckon you could if the zipper goes down near the foot…..though I am not familiar with that bag. Mine is a wide mummy. Try it I suppose.

I use a scarf over my mouth in such a way that I keep moving the wet spot out of the hammock and a fresh dry part over my face (Think type writer ribbon).
Cold eyes huh? I've never had that but I pull my hat down to brow.

I don't know how you stay comfortable using a sleeping bag as a pod. I tried that once last year and I felt pretty claustrophobic. I'm also a little more plump than you, so Im sure that doesn't help On the other hand, fiddling with underquilts slipping every once in a while is a pain too. I'll have to re-visit the pod system some time.

I have only used the commercial versions, which are 72" wide in the widest part(center) though they taper down a lot on the ends. But I imagine one key to converting a bag into a hammock pod is a wide enough bag and the right kind of zipper. None of my bags have zippers that go around the foot, so I have not been able to experiment with them.

I've got to get a corner of my backyard set up like that. How did you reinforce the fence? (at least thats what I think you are using as 1 anchor point.

It is a wide mummy so I am quite comfortable in there. Bit more constricted than a normal UQ lay but warmth trumps that.

The right bag is important for sure.

Jacket fully zipped less the neck. Nothing in with me but my JRB sleeves for a pillow. Less seems best.

I feel the same watching but in the pod was ever-so warm. Especially my feet.
