Take your time and wade through the site for a while. It is like drinking from a fire hose. Ask whatever questions you have the people around here are full of good info.

And … welcome to the site from Gwinnett Co.

Making one is a serious consideration. I am not handy with a machine though.

redman2006, I don't know how close you are to me, but if you would like to come by here one day I will gladly let you try some different hammocks, see how down really works, learn some suspension techniques and so on. I have a clark nx250, a warbonnet ridge runner, a ox gear gathered end a few homemade tablecloth hammocks, a wal mart hammock, a black bird clone, and probably something else. I would enjoy showing you what little I have learned.

Welcome to the addiction! This is the best site around for finding out all kinds of info for hanging. My head was spinning when I first began looking into hanging then I found this site. Helped me a lot. Welcome from Lawrenceville, GA

New to hammocks. I had one net hammock way back in the 80's when I was a kid. I never could get it right, but now I would like to try again.

I am very interested in a camping hammock and hope to unconfuse myself here. I have been reading for a while, but just got voice to post.
You are in North Ga., come to the PSH hang in 2 weeks. Not far for you, just off I-20 north side of Columbia, S.C. I will have an extra Hennesy hammock and I am sure other folks will have extra as well. You will be able to check out many different setups. There won't be a "wrong" hang there, just different. So come on up and learn.
