indoor hangers check your suspension often

Last night I almost joined the ranks of "Hangers that have hit the ground". I have been hanging on a Turtledog stand every night for just over a year. Last night I decided to adjust the head end suspension just to see what it would do to the lay of the hammock. I hang the top rail from amsteel dogbones off screw pin shackles. As soon as I dropped the head end of the hammock to raise the top rail, the screw pin hit the floor. Checked the foot end and it was about half way out. Just a reminder to check all parts of your suspension before loading the hammock. I was lucky because there were hard items under the hammock (all now moved) that would have been painful to fall on.

It never hurts to have something soft, placed under you

    Oh-No's 2 hanging rules.

Never hang higher than you're willing to fall.
Never hang over anything you wouldn't mind landing on.

Oh, and when you're out in the woods, it's not a bad
idea to check for widow makers.

    Just my 2 cents.
