SOLD: Seedhouse sl1, sl2 ul outstanding!

    Folks,

    They ain't Cuben, but ....

2 BA Tents! UL, Freestanding, Dbl-Walled!

    1. BA Seedhouse SL1 - Complete, almost like new. Freestanding, Dbl-walled tent in outstanding condition! Large Front Door and Vestibule for gear storage. Full noseeum netting throughout. Perfect for solo camping, hiking, thru-hikes - I use an SL1 for fast-packing and UL hiking. Complete setup with 11 Shepard's hook stakes, pole, tent body, fly, brand new stuff sack, and spotless inside and out. Packed weight is 2 lb. 8 oz. That's not 'trail' or 'fast fly' weight, that's packed weight. This tent is just back from BA maintenance dept - They sent it back to me BETTER THAN NEW, and even included a new bag for it! Since then I've gone in a different direction (the fault of HF folks, I might add!), and thought I would pay it forward to someone who can use it. Sells for $269.95 on the BA site, will sacrifice for $165.00 plus shipping. This is a great deal for the upcoming season. https://www.bigagnes.com/Products/De...t/SeedhouseSL1

    2. BA Seedhouse SL2 - Again, sent this one off for maintenance, and BA sent me back a COMPLETE, BRAND NEW SL2 tent body and SL2 fly. I still have the original stuff sack to go with it, and it includes tent body, fly, pole, eleven BA J-stakes. Again, this thing is a classic for very lightweight, double-walled tents. No tears, rips, dirt, nothing. 3 lbs, 1 oz packed weight, for a 2-person, freestanding, dbl-walled BA product. At 6'1" and 190 lbs, this is roomy enough for me and all my gear, with room to spare. Or, it'll sleep two adults with gear stored in large vestibule. Sells for $339.95, will sacrifice for $200.00 plus shipping. https://www.bigagnes.com/Products/De...t/SeedhouseSL2

Both tents are pristine, and are great for moist environs, ground sleeping, fast hiking, treeless, or just everyday, high-performance sheltering.

Paypal only. Best offers will be considered (keep 'em real, please), and I will answer all inquiries. My only trade interest for either one would might be for a great UL backpack at about 50-60 liters or so of comparable value, or a nice sized top quilt of comparable value. I wanna move these quickly, so let me know.

    Thanks All!!!

Great deal if I already didn't have a small tent. BTW the links do not goto the tents.

Thanks. I'll fix (I swear, 27 years in IT and I still can't insert a link in a flippin' forum...).

Do you mind if I ask what they were in for maintenance for? How old are they?

Not at all - good question. I have five tents, including 2 BA UL backpacking and one BA 3-person tent (plus a small Coleman and a big family tent somewhere around here....). The two Seedhouse tents are SL tents, made with PU-coated silnylon. When I took all the small tents out to erect, air out, and re-stow for the spring I noticed a sort of stickiness on the Seedhouse flies - just a tad on the SL1 but a good bit on the SL2. Since I keep all my stuff in climate controlled, dry storage, with my down completely uncompressed, happy cook sets, etc, I was surprised at this, and called BA. They said it to send the bodies and flies in for inspection and they'd let me know in a few weeks.

So I did. Didn't think too much more about it, figuring they'd offer me a discount on a new tent or something, but on Friday I got 'em back - they had washed and retreated the SL1 to a like-new condition and had replaced my stuff sack with a brand new one. In addition, they sent a brand new SL2 body and fly back to me. (Yes, brand new). Honestly, this was very surprising to me - They were each about 4 (maybe 5) years old, meticulously cared for like all my gear, and I had used 'em on many shorter sections in all four seasons, and some short and longish sea kayak trips (5-8 days). I used the SL2 more than the SL1 because I like the extra room inside, and my son likes the SL1 as much, so it worked out well.

So now the kid is away at school, and I only need one at most. I thought I'd offer these both and pick up a TQ or something (I like to keep my passions at a net-zero cost if possible), and maybe keep my ole Coleman Peak1 Cobra for those times when I am on the ground - it's only 3 lbs and sleeps okay (if a little cramped in the foot area). If somebody doesn't buy them soon, I'll just keep 'em or maybe put one on Ebay (ugh) - haven't decided yet. This is a tough decision since they've been such great shelters for me, and I don't really need to sell (my wife thinks I should keep 'em). But since I've gone back to hammocking, I am enjoying it and I don't wanna just leave these things in the closet doing no good at all. Plus, with my WBMJ and my homemade Superfly copy (a masterpiece I might add...), I really don't need these in my quiver.

BTW, BA told me the stickiness was apparently due to a coating breakdown over time - it seems to happen with silnylon in storage sometimes, but not so with regular coated poly, and suggested I hang the tents up in a closet instead of a wooden cabinet to allow plenty of air. So I did. Which my wife loves.

Anyway BA made it good and surpassed my expectations! I am a longtime user and loyal BA customer - and if they made hammocks and high-end down quilts I would buy from them before anyone else (nutty, huh?). The shelters are posted over on Whiteblaze, but as an afterthought I thought I'd put 'em here, too.

    Thanks. Hope this helps.

Hi there. Before I make an offer I figure if just throw this out there. I have a suluk46 tdw wood burning stove I'm going to sell. Basically it's a handmade titanium bushbuddy that weighs 2.4 oz. it's 225$ new. His website is suluk46.com if you'd like to check it out. Would you be interested in a partial trade and some money for the tent? I was thinking the stove and 100$?

    Thanks,
    Dan

No foul, that's a trade offer not a price negotiation. Only 3 Degrees? It must be spring time
