Holy Whah,,,, that's some major shrinkage factor.

When I see lovers' names carved into a tree, I don't think it's cute. I think it's strange how so many people take knives on a date.

I can't even imagine. I've lived in Florida all my life. The coldest temps I've seen was 18*, and yes I was camping at the time. As a teenager a couple friends and I camped in the Ocala Forest for a weekend. We tried to fish, but our hands were numb. I think at -26* my hands would have just fell off! Major kudos to you for enduring that adventure! Congrats on your PB!

Well, I say, congrats to any of you who were bold enough to brave anything less than 0F 'cuz that's pretty dang cold. Thanks for sharing all of the details of the equipment you used. That is really useful information for people like me who haven't "been there" yet but aspire to it.
Be safe out there.

I never thought my cold weather experiments 10 years ago would lead to such amazing equipment and ability to sleep in a cold weather hammock.

I originally wanted to prove to myself that I could be comfortable in the coldest weather that the AT would send my way. Y'all have gone far past that!!

I had not seen those reports before, Risk. Very interesting and well documented view of the "early days".
