Even though I ended up bailing out during my Knobstone trek on Friday due to a gut instinct (thread and video here: https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...ad.php?t=85448 )
I made sure the weekend didn't go by without a night in the woods (even if it was at a manicured campground..) The place was definitely a bit more luxurious than I was used to but was a gorgeous area and sharing a night outdoors and a campfire with good friends is never a waste of time in my book. The guys got their first chance at Kentucky "winter" camping (aka Minnesota summer ) and they survived. I got to try my new uqp from 2qZq (aside from using it in my room on my hammockstand) which did amazingly. Wind gusts were up to 20mph, but with the sides of the uqp cinched up so it came up high it couldn't touch me. I slept warm and toasty all night. Not really close to the coldest night or the worst conditions I've camped in but was still a solid night out for playing with gear and systems etc...
