SOLD: 4oz Cuben Tarp custom from Zpacks

Here is a very interesting item for sale. It is my Custom Cuben Fiber Tarp from Zpacks. Without guyouts, skins and suspension tarp comes in at 4oz.

Reason I am selling: I'm lazy as all get out. I love the capability of having a SUL tarp that will take me through a storm but I want a tarp with less guy-outs, probably an asymmetrical tarp regardless of the protection I'll lose.

I bought this tarp used from the forums 2 months ago and "fixed" it into a fully functional minimalistic tarp. I seam sealed the outside & cuben taped the inside insuring water proof ability. I added shock cord loops and attached to 1.4mm z-line with mini line locks to all tie outs. I built miniature Dynaglide UCR's for the suspension. And sewed a set of snakeskins for it. I pimped it out to my needs - and it really works great.

But keep in mind, it is now fully waterproof, has tieouts, suspension and mesh snakeskins.

When I hung this tarp in handfuls of test hangs and overnighters I connected the mini UCR's to the same marlin spike hitch that my whoopie sling was attached to.

my concern is that it is two short and weather would blow in under. I am trying to make a quick tyvek version to see how I like it. If I like the tyvek version I will buy it. Just don't want to drop the cabbage if not going to work.

It definitely took me some practice how to figure the pitch/hang of the tarp and how to keep it from sagging once i get in the hammock but was never really worried about the weather. People have thru-hiked with small asym tarps and stayed high & dry throughout, I'm sure a hanger can stay dry through a hell of a storm with this prototype of an idea. Practice, location & practice.

I'm sure somebody will pick it up, its priced to sell

I almost hate to ask, but could a ground-dweller use this tarp? If so, you may want to post the sale somewhere where a ground dweller would see it. Seems like it might work except the an entry/exit door does not exist.

wondering... assuming a light single layer netless hammock, could you put both the tarp and hammock together in the skins? Seems like this would be real convenient for setup, somewhat offsetting the multiple stakeouts. I like the idea of having one package for shelter, much like how you would carry a tent typically. I understand cuben sheds water better than sil so that even if it got wet, should be able to towel it dry to keep the hammock dry. Not a big deal to split the two if needed, just a thought.

Have considered this as an option, would definitely be easy to do with this tarp. The skins wouldn't even need to be much bigger assuming a lightweight hammock (bugnet or not)

Tarp is packaged and ready to ship flat rate first class USPS. Alot of tarp for the price people.
