Looking at Shugs pod videos and latest success (insane -40* adventure) has me wondering about the nuts and bolts of a pod system. It seems many of the pics of pod use point to a limited assym lie. Which brings me to one of my questions:
1) Would a shorter hammock have an advantage over a longer hammock due to the ends of the pod connecting to a point on the hammock with less width or spread?
I've been more than a little tempted to purchase a GT Nano or make a copy that's a little wider, looking at using a mummy bag as a pod makes the shorter hammock seem even more appealing that weight savings.
2) When using a mummy bag as a pod are there any modifications needed for the lower or foot end zipper?
3) How do you attach the suspension to the top of the bag?
Thanks for your input.
