    Kids Tablecloth hammock

I went over to tablecloth factory.com and man I didnt have a clue how many choices that place has! I want to make a hammock for my daughter for her birthday and need some help on what size and type of tablecloth to choose. A round, square, rectangle shape? She has picked out the color. What size is good for a growing child?

The 60"x126" rectangular tablecloth for $12.99 is pretty popular around here. Inexpensive, durable and large enough to comfortably fit an adult. I made four this spring, two for kids, two for adults:

Thanks all this helps narrow my search. Octothorpesarus did you use the crinkle kind and how do you fix the ridgeline? I am thinking about not doing one but have modified a skeeterbeater mesh tent as a bug net.

I used crinkle taffeta for all four. I made the ridge line out of Zing-It! using locked brummels with length based on Derek's Hang Calculator. I also made one whoopie style adjustable ridge line but if I had to do it over again I wouldn't bother. All four now have ridge lines for ease of setup, ridge line organizer and for UQ attachment. The ridge lines just slip over the whoopie slings. The whoopie slings just pass through the end channels. Later I made Fronkey Style bug nets
out of two cheap 59x84 Voile curtains.

I made several in the 126x60 for my kids, even for the small ones this size works well and will fit them for years as they grow. Here is a picture of one I made for my older daughter. Even with the fancy custom bunk bed, she prefers to sleep in the hammock. The "bug net" is made from organza sheer material that was about 1.99/yd from Walmart, seamed with coordinating purple grosgrain ribbon along the top.
