Hello I am a complete noob when it comes with hammocks, I was given this as a gift. This is a pick of both ends, some how one of them has come undone, How do I fix this. Also Do I just attach caribiners inside the loop or am I doing this wrong. Thanks for your time I appreciate it http://imgur.com/lQ6Y1b1

Looks like you could pull the knotty loop on the left through the loop next to it…..add biners and hang.

Put the knot less loop thru the loop below the knot on the same piece or replace it with a contious loop or dogbone

The bundle of knots on the left looks like just a series of overhand knots. My guess is they are just intended as a stopper.

The open loop looks like it has some twists in it that make me believe that it was originally attached below the knot bundle with a larkshead knot (which would explain the need for a stopper knot).

You should be able to larskead it back in place. If there is not enough slack, you could undo the overhead knots, re-attach the open loop with a larkshead, and retie the overhand stopper knots.

    What Shug said.
Or, the Occam's Razor technique: take a look at the other end of the hammock that's put together and do the same configuration for the open end.

Hey since yer name is Mike like me I'll give ya some feedback. Just kidding, I'd do it anyway. You could just take the rope completely out of both ends. Use that rope and tie off the free ends with a secure knot. A bowline, double fisherman's loop, or simple overhand knot. Feed that through the end channel and secure it by larksheading it. Clip a carabiner on the end and hang.

Carabiner would be the quickest, easiest fix... but ( tongue in cheek ), I hate to be the one to tell you...

Your hammock has spoken. It doesn't like the bulky, black ropes. It wants to be converted to whoopies or a buckle/strap suspension rig.

I'm kidding. I hope you are able to implement a quick fix and get back to hangin' soon!!! Best of luck!!!

There's a whole lot of us from around you in Mass.. In fact, this coming weekend, there will be a whole lot of us in one place, about an hour north of you. If you can't fix it, come meet some of us, and one of us (or all of us) will help!

    problem with my hammock

That is an ENO. To make it like the factory, just make a loop with the end that does not have the knot and shove the knot thru the loop, add a carabiner and hang.

Also, plus one to the hang next weekend. If you come out, I can fix it for you or show you how to replace it with something else if you like.
