Hi and welcome from Linkou, Taiwan.
Thanks all for the warm welcome!
Hi Redoleary, I'm not too keen on camping and hiking in areas with lions, elephants, rhino or buffalo. Leopards are generally around everywhere but they are too shy to make a human into a burrito, provided you don't go bumping into one in the middle of the night!
Goeiedag Žn Hi daar!
I'll be in Kruger in June.....don't think I'll be hanging there...maybe later during the trip in the Drakenbergs
Welcome to HF and congratulations on evolving upon high. Be proud. Stretching fabric between trees is an honored affliction.

Welcome to HF from the Berkshires in Mass.
Hi Medicine man
I hope you enjoy your South African trip. I suspect you may have more success with the hammock in some of the Kruger restcamps (fenced) than in the Drakensberg - I don't recall there being many big trees around, but perhaps I wasn't really looking on my last visit as I hadn't started hammocking yet.
Hello from Pennsylvania, USA. I lived in ZA and Botswana for a few years, good luck hanging out there. Enjoy the beautiful night sky view from your hammock!
