It and it's relatives have come up a few times. Heavy and expensive have been a couple of the more common comments.

Yeah, I remember seeing those mentioned somewhere on here before. I think we all can agree on that the forces on the trees are beyond helthy though, no?
I mean, the recent discussion on 4" straps in U.S parks have got at least a few people looking over their suspensions, and to me this Tree tent seems like it could damage both the trees and our "hobby"/camping style.
Maybe I'm way off here, but that's how I see it. As a swede I might not get as affected as our friends over the pond (our Right to roam act), but it still feels morally wrong stringing that thing up knowing the forces that are in play. And it feels dangerous too.
O.K, rant off. Thanks for listening.

People on this forum are absolutely incredible. I wish we could discover new land and inhabit it all together. :-) - Deadphans
8 lbs, dang that's heavy. They are cool looking, but not $700- $900 cool.
"No whining in the woods"
I know it's sacrilegious to say this but I don't get all the issues with touching a tree wrong. I live in alabama. Anyone ever see what an F4 tornado does to a forest? Or pine beetles? Or lightening? Don't get me wrong I love trees. I don't go out doing stuff to intentionally harm beautiful trees. I have seen 5 of the most beautiful Oaks on our property that I wouldn't have taken any amount of money for destroyed by lightening and wind. I'm pretty sure the trees I hang in are proud to have my straps wrapped around them. They seem happy about it to me.
