    New to hang'n and Minnesota

Hi all. As the title says I'm a new hanger and new to Minnesota. We moved here at the beginning of September from Kansas. I know it sounds crazy, but so far, we are enjoying the winter!
Looking forward to backpacking/hiking/camping/kayaking/canoeing this spring.
No hammock yet, still looking around for a good one to try. My wife is not sold on the idea of a hammock so I thought I'd get one, try it out, and see what she thinks.
This site is chalk full of great info!

Welcome! Winter camping is great. You're right, there is plenty of info here so don't hesitate to ask and make sure to research before buying. Sometimes the gear here can seem pricey to new hangers but in the long run it saves money by stopping you from buying twice if you get my meaning. See if you can attend a group hang so you can check out different gear and set ups as well as meet some good people. Have fun.

Once you go hammock you'll never go tent.

Welcome to HF from Hillbilly Deluxe! Also from Minnesota, ya know it's funny, my wife is actually the one who brought me to hammocks while trying to figure out lighter gear for camping. I am telling you, hammock hangen is addictive but ever so comfortable. Look forward to seeing you on the trail. And if you ever want to try out a couple of hammocks, pm me and we'll try to set something up. Happy hangen brother
