So I was messing about with random fabrics and decided to use a stretchy, DWR taffeta to make a gathered end hammock. This sagged in the centre where my bum was, not unexpected but nonetheless uncomfortable, so I used another hammock below this with about 10cm gap. Supremely comfortable.

So based on this I'm thinking;

* 10ft 1.1 rip-stop sharing its end channels with 9ft of the stretchy taffeta

* 10ft 1.1 rip-stop/ DWR nylon strip ~30cm sewn down the centre of the taffeta

* taffeta that is folded down the centre so as to make a double layer around 30cm wide (I don't have any scraps for this though)

At just over 9ft this experiment was as comfortable a my 9ft mini spreader bar hammock and I'm keen to remove extra components and weight if possible.
