Thumbs up Different hang style in backyard

Ok I have two trees to far to hang hammock in between. But I would like to come up with a good anchor point between the two to share the anchor point, and then use each tree.

This would enable my son and I to hang in backyard.

I live in a subdivision, so I want this anchor point removable. It needs to be decent looking, affordable, fairly lightweight...etc.

Any good Ideas to share....I bet there are a bunch!!

Thank for the help HF friends!!

    Dig hole 4ft deep.
Drop one of those tubes used to creat a quikcrete footing for a porch into the hole.
    Quikcrete around it.
    Drop a 12' 4x4 or 6x6 into the hole.

Alternatively, do the same sort of thing using black pipe 4" for the hole, 2" for the post.

For something that's not permanent try a bipod or tripod made of bamboo or other material you may have on hand or access to. Check out the turtle lady or turtle dog stands for pics.

I used one between two trees that were too far apart and one was too small so I anchored to the base of the smaller tree. My 1st setup, learned a lot here since then.

If you pulled a heavy rope taut between the two trees (like wench taut) you might be able to hang both hammocks from that line. You'd have to really crank down on it to prevent sag, but if the trees are robust enough it should work. That'd be pretty cool looking, I think.

I think dirtwheels plan is solid. I'd hang from that. What you may not be able to see is the rope that anchors the poles that runs from where they cross to the base of the smaller tree.

How far apart? may not be a big deal at all. use a stick to extend the line as seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=57I_HLsEnbc

If I were doing it, something like dirt wheels suggested is what I would do. Not expensive, easy to set up and take down, plenty strong. Some stain of some kind on the bi-pod would make it blend to the point of not being noticeable to the neighbors.

Bipod works well. I use it often. Also - if the trees are stout enough, tension a couple of straps between them (double layer) - but protect the trees first. THEN mount (use hooks, ibolts, etc a simple 2x4 along the strap. Anchor your hammock to the 2x4 and not the strap and you won't get additional sag - just a nice firm anchor point. You could thread a PVC pipe on the straps as well and anchor ahead of each end of the pipe.... you get the point. Just strap and engineer the sag out of it.
