    Shiny Side

Okay, I got my new Snipe and love it.

My question is whether it hangs shiny side in, or shiny side out.

It looks like it should be shiny out but Shug hangs shiny side in.

I am just making a hammock out of 1.1oz and I have made it to be shiny side out, so that probably means it should by shiny side in . I am not sure it makes any difference.

Isn't there a "Wilderness Logics" tag sewn on one of the sides of the hammock? If so, I'd say, tag out

Just depends how you like to lay, feet right or left. Flipping it over will move the knotty mods to the appropriate sides. Otherwise, I dont think it matters.

Yes there is, so logic suggests that the shiny side is supposed to be on the outside.

I own one and like seeing the logo and hang with my feet to the right, so the shiny side on the outside it is. Plus, the shine looks nice in my opinion.

The tag is actually sewn over the edge so it is on both sides. The actual logo is on the shiny side so that would put shiny side out. However, with shiny side out the shock cord and cinch buckles are now inside the hammock.

If this is a tomato tomahtoh thing I'll go the Snug way and keep shiny in and shock cord out.

I just got an email from Marty who says it makes no difference. He hangs shiny out, Shug hands shiny in. I think I'm gonna go shiny in. The only question I have now is how to get my UQ to rotate another 30 degrees so it can line up with the more asymmetrical way I like to lie in my Snipe.

One of Shug's UQ videos shows how he pulls the UQ around to the diagonal flopping a suspension cord over the top of his feet on that side and pulling the shoulder side around to cover. I have no trouble getting an asymmetrical lay with my WL UQ using that method.
