Hey, all. I've been knocking out several small tyvek projects lately, taking advantage of some recycled USPS mailing envelopes. This time, because my silnylon stake bag has developed a hole, I have made a sturdy tyvek stake bag. Here are some pics, including one of a rough pattern--note that the pattern was a starting point, not a finished pattern.
I have not mentioned before, for those that do not know, that washing and drying your tyvek beforehand will soften it up and make it much more workable.
I hope someone finds this project useful. It's not as pretty as some of my other work, but it was fast and easy. It's going to be a great accompaniment for my new HG cuben fiber tarp.
Rough Pattern:
In case it's not clear, the small rectangle is for a strap, under which the flap closes. I did not photograph it well to show that feature (it's the red stripe in the picture below). Also, note that the pattern does not include the top panel of the pocket that holds the stakes; that's why I point out that the pattern is a rough start. I just winged it from there.
Finished Product:
Finished weight is 3 grams, versus the 11 gram original silnylon bag.
