The Kelty is a versatile tarp and you'll have fun finding new ways to pitch it. Porch mode is still my favorite.

Everyone ought to believe in something....I believe I'll go set up the hammock!

Nice, I've used that one before.

You're sag looks a little tight and high for my taste. I would loosen that up a bit or your shoulders are going to get squeezed. I like to have my butt at chair height.

Awesome!! I really like my Kelty 12 for winter hangs. It's pretty bulletproof and, pulling a pulk, I don't mind the extra weight.

In fact, I'm gonna use it this weekend. I will get a couple shots.

Yeah I prefer to have mine tight and as high as I can hang and still be able to get in!

Hey if you don't mind me asking another question on the same forum thread, I think it may be relevant...

I've been using a Noah 12 for a couple years now, and am always a little disappointed with the level of tautness I can get with the sides. I was reading a different thread about caternary cuts of tarps, and got to thinking about the cat cut of the Noah 12. When we set the Noah up in the way scandalofgrace has pictured (this is how I set it up too), we are fighting against the cat cuts, instead of running the ridgeline from corner to corner where the cat cuts would help us. I am thinking that by pulling at the "middle" of the tarp (like pictured), this leads to a more difficult time getting the sides tight. Does this sound logical to others?

I am wondering if by making the ridgeline extremely loose (i.e. not pulling the tarp very much at all), we would be able to stake out the sides more tightly. Of course, this would add a bunch of sag in the ridgeline which could cause more problems and require a higher attachment to the trees, so would not be a perfect solution. Anyone explore this setup option?

Anyone have any other ideas to fix the floppy sides?.... Anyone else even have this problem to start with????
