Everyone's home safe again. Daemon (the husky) & and Chloe (the beagle) have been asleep since we walked in the door. Believe it or not, Gumbo is in the kitchen cooking! Personally, after being at Buck Lake since Wednesday (today's Tuesday), I just had one of the best showers ever!
Gear and boats to clean and stow. Left over provisions to sort out. Etc., etc. But before I do, there's some important business to attend to.

Thank you to Gumbo for spending six months planning and fretting and working and striving to do every little thing to make FH4 the best hang in history. I love you.

Thank you to Richtorfla for working tirelessly to make sure everyone was fed AND FED WELL!

Thank you Lil'Ricky whose spirit of giving and giving to make sure everyone has a good time exemplifies the Florida Hangs.

Thank you olddog & Vanguard for having such a big heart for little kids and for helping to save a few of our next generation from the scourge of video games and iphones.

Thank you to everyone who stepped up to help on KP. Washing dishes is no fun in cold weather. In that vein, thank you to everyone who helped secure the kitchen at bedtime when you really wanted to sneak off to your warm hammock.

Thank you to Itsandy for leading great yak trips everyday. We always expect great things from you and you always deliver.

Thank you Floridahanger for your enthusiasm and for keeping the planning thread pumping. The love you have for everyone shows in your beautiful family.

Thank you SandyKayak for your culinary contributions. You always have unique deliciousness to share.

Speaking of unique; thank you Sparkfly & Aaron for giving the world a unique perspective of FH4.

Thank you sr1355 & Missy Lou of UGQ for coming the farthest and for helping so many people have a great experience in challenging conditions and for supporting the raffle.

Likewise, thank you to Underground Quilt (UGQ) & Warbonnet Outdoors & REI & Sawyer Filters & Packet Gourmet & Garmin GPS for supporting our raffle year after year. Everyone: please show your appreciation by patronizing these guys and by spreading the word that they are "good companies to work with."

Thank you to everyone who shared of themselves in their time, effort, expertise or fun stories to help things go smoothly and make sure someone else had a good time.

If I missed a person or a company that should be recognized, I sincerely apologize. It's because of my own leaky brain, not because of anything else.

Finally, thank you to Mad777 for pointing out in his trip report that the Florida Hangs are not just about Florida or hanging. They are about the heart and spirit of great people coming together in a unique community.

Although one could be forgiven if one thought it was about the food.

And that is what happens when Timberrr uses my computer to post and then I don't check to see who is logged in.

    another first timer

This was my first hang and it was great in every way. I'll echo the thanks to all who organized and worked so hard to make this event so good. I really enjoyed making so many new friends and putting faces with names from the forum.

I can hardly wait for next year!

Not likely, I won't have my gear sorted by then!

I know there are still a few traveling today and in the weeks to come. So there should be more pics in the coming days. I know Early Bird has some really nice pics from the Kayak Trips. Hopefully she will post them.

    P.S.

Thank you Guitarman & Itsandy for the tunes. Every good thing is better with good music.

Thank you to all the first timers - hangers and ground dwellers - for trying something new, for hanging tough when the going got cold and for being part of our great community.

Thank you to the kids, et al, who played with, walked or otherwise entertained or at least distracted my dogs, Daemon & Chloe.

I too had a great time at this hang. Many thanks to the organizers, ya'll did a fantastic job. Giving glowing reports to all my buddies that bailed on me and it doesn't matter if they feel disappointed or not because I certainly wasn't. Made some great new friends that I hope I get the chance to hang with them again in the near future. That's really the the highlight for me is making new friends and looking forward to the next one.

Sounds like my family is on board for attending the next FL Hang so we hope to see ya'll next year
