I'm 6' 1" 215 lbs and I'm looking for my first hammock for on the trail. I've looked at the Warbonnet Blackbird Xlc, but I can't decide if I need that or the regular.
Thanks ghost17

Thanks zilla
I love the added netting that's on the Warbonnet XLC and wished they made the Blackbird that way as an option.
I recently purchased a WBBB and can not say enough good things about it. One of the main reasons I chose the WB was due to the "footbox." After sleeping in the hammock I can tell you that its a fantastic feature. I have no issues with my calves or knees.
I'm just under 5' 8'' but my brother is 6' 2''. He tried out the Blackbird and loved it. Due to the footbox it wasn't uncomfortable for him.
I got a 1.1 double layer, rather than a single layer, because I had a lot of people advising me the double layer is more comfortable. I also figured that if I wanted to use a pad (I have an under quilt) for some reason in the future I could.
The reasons I decided against the XLC are the added weight and the fact that the extra 12 inches changes the coverage of standard sized tarps, positions of anchor points (trees) and whatnot. Since I'm using the hammock on a long distance hiking trip, I wanted to minimize the weight as much as possible while still maintaining optimized coverage of tarp, under quilt, and under quilt protector...as well as giving me the greatest potential for anchoring.
Unfortunately, there is a very large spectrum of opinions on hammocks. All the cottage vendors here make great gear and offer a lot of options. What works for me may not work for someone else. I'm 5'9, 150# and could not get comfortable in a 10' hammock. 11' and I'm off to sleep.
Good news is that if the hammock you buy doesn't work out for you, you can sell it here for almost what you paid for it. Warbonnets usually take about 5 minutes to sell.

Thanks everyone for the tips on what to buy
wb xlc, and you won't regret it. WB--Good guys to work with and they will answer all of your ????
i am 6'3", 200lbs and have the regular blackbird and have absolutely no complaints on the comfort, it's big enough for me to sleep on my back or side, that said i have never been in the xlc and don't know if i would feel even more comfortable or not
one thing you will probably find no matter what you get is that there is a bit of dialing in for your own ultimate comfort, when i hang mine i probably hang it with a bit of a tighter ridgeline than other would, but for me that is the best for my comfort, so if you get a hammock and it's not as comfortable as you think it should be dont' be afraid to play with it and try different set-ups....or get another one, you can never have to many!

Another vote for WB XLC.
