Legitimate criticism isn't the same thing as simply anti HH. I'd like to hear your observations.
We have another thread for 2009 Trail Days here.
“I think that when the lies are all told and forgot the truth will be there yet. It dont move about from place to place and it dont change from time to time. You cant corrupt it any more than you can salt salt.” - Cormac McCarthy
Anybody that tried to follow my Trail Journal knows I'm not good at searching out computers.
Yes, the Hennessys have been quite busy. Competition is good huh? The new hammocks are double layer with a full length zipper. The "Deep Jungle" is two layers of the hyperlite fabric and the "Deep Winter" has a bottom layer of sil. Doesn't look like they moved the tie-out points to a better location, but the bottom entry slit is GONE!
They also had a new winter tarp that completely covered the hammock and sealed the ends. The ends close with doors and attach with velcro strips. Much better coverage than other Hennessy flyies, but still doesn't come down very far. There is still going to be a lot of cold air moving around under the hammock with no way to pull the sides down to the ground.
So, he came out with a double layer hammock, with built-in bugnetting, side entry, full zipper and a winter tarp with removable doors. Hmmmm, wonder where he could have gotten his ideas.
Trust nobody!
Did Hennessy hint as to when production will begin on the new hammock and tarp?
Actually I like the bottom entry, but would like to try the top entry.
Whatever it takes. But yeah, I bet you're right on.
No hints, I brought one home with me. They were all available at Trail Days, although he only had 4 Deep Jungles and 4 Deep Winters with him so inventory must not be up very far yet. I don't know the story on the tarps, but he was selling them.
Trust nobody!
Oh, did I mention he plans on selling the Deep Jungles for $200 something? No tarp. He had them on sale at TD for $128, but his pricesheet listed them around $238 if memory serves. Ouch!
Trust nobody!
