Or a hitchcraft device. Which I love, and have on both my BB's with tree/line straps.

I didn't have a clue and asked essentially the same question a while back.

I was steered in that thread to the adjustable suspension and am very happy. Set-up is so easy, it's worth the carabiner weight.

    Alright already! :-)

You have me convinced! I like both lightweight and simple, which many times coincides, but this time it doesn't and based on all your advice, I'm going with the simple!

It's the adjustable suspension for me.

A big sincere "Thank you" for all your input!

Mad...........I have the straps and ring buckle system but I choose to not use biners. I just run the strap around the tree, through the loop on the other end of the strap and back to the tri rings and Voila!

Thanks for that tip. I couldn't figure out why biners were necessary if there is a loop at the end of the strap.

With biners - you don't have to remove the webbing from the rings/buckle every time you setup - but you do with just the webbing. Also, there were a few reports of the webbing getting tacky where it rubbed against itself inside the loops.

PITA removing the webbing from the rings every time you need to set up. Biners are only .7oz ea. not much for the convienence. Also, with biners, no need to let the hammock touch the ground while setting up

And ultra-convenient. Love 'em. But not needed if you need to save an oz or two.

Good point about biner convenience. I have some 1 oz biners that are rated for climbing.
