    My new OES 12 x 10!!!

I ordered a 12 x 10 SWT clone from Brian at OES and it arrived yesterday!! I couldn't really post yesterday, of course, because you'd all be mad that there weren't pictures. I really had some time this afternoon to set it up and really check it out. Brian does amazing work. Like I said, it's 12' on the ridge with 10' sides. The tarp has four ties on each side. It's more than enough for our two hammocks. I tried several pitches with one and two hammocks. Next weekend we're going for a trip, so we'll really see what it can do. It'll be a car camping trip with friends so the site will probably be horrible for hammocks. I'm taking bipods and such just in case.

The tarp was a birthday present for me (even though I picked it out and all) so that makes it all the more special. I also somehow manged to talk my wife into getting herself a JRB Mt. Washington 4 UQ, so we are anxiously expecting that as well. It's great to see my wife enjoy hammocking too. She got me into backpacking and now I'm showing her a better way to do it. The privacy to be able to change clothes is the biggest concern she and some of my other female friends have had, so she really loves this tarp.

CAUTION: Don't hang over rocks!! Do as I say.....not as I do

mbwtt, great photos. Thanks for sharing, I have been thinking I will absolutely need something more than the stock tarp my HH came with and the OES gear looks great. BTW is that a Shiba I see in your pics and avatar?

Yea, aint it great! Similar to mine, you can house a family of 4 under it & still hang there yourself.
I like that in my verson (slightly longer, not cat cut) I can stand fully erect AND be protected from the weather. Do that in a backpacking tent!
When you have a backpack on, no matter where you are, you’re home.
PAIN is INEVITABLE. MISERY is OPTIONAL.

Yes, that's my Shiba Inu. His name is Rusty and he's 2 years old. He's a pretty good heater, too!! In fact, I was hanging in the back yard a few months ago and let him out when I came back inside in the morning. A little while later, my wife tells me to look in the backyard. I don't see anything at first, but then I see Rusty's little head pop up out of my hammock!! He knows what it's all about!

Lol. We have two shibas. Love those little guys. We have a red female and a white male. They are about 7 but I don't think either would be up for getting into my HH. I will post a pic latter, I am on my ipod and can't attach one from it. Best dogs I have ever known.
