Talking ViDEO: Minnesota Frozen Butt Hang 2014

Just rolled in last night windburned and chapped. Smoky fire pew. Warm heart. Warm feet.
A Whoooooo Buddy of a mighty fine Hang. We hit -13ºF Friday night. Dat'll do….

26-ish folks braving the deep snow…yes, very deep snow in the piney woods of Finland, MN.
Lots of meat, gruel, smoky water, gabbing, laughing, desserts and reckless palaver.

We Minnesotans got a chance to share our State and enjoy it's cold austere beauty.

Missed Stairguy and had him there in spirit. He woulda loved it.
I'd like to personally give a Tip of the Beanie to MadHob and Jason and TZBrown for being such good fire tenders, leather glove meat flippers and un-assuming firewood formatters. Shug of the Third Person seen you fellers doing a lot.
Truly…..a wonderful time with all these odd and wonderful internet typing cyber friends.

Who brought the giant parachute? Is that just to hold the heat in or is it meant to be a giant rain fly? Anyway, how did it work?

Thanks for the report and another well done video.

I know it wasn't as cold as a lot of you were probably hoping for, but still looks like a good time.
If your lucky enough to be outdoors, your lucky enough!

It was only a bit colder feeling on the windy day. Felt so nice out there.

That is Jason's chute. Keeps the snow off mostly and just looks and feels cool. Used one last year too.
I know I had a real good time this year.

Had it gotten to -30º or so….I think it would have cut down on some of the social foray. We had some beautiful nights and days.

Great video Shug! Always enjoy seeing your adventures. Finally got out this weekend with my scouts, and we had a balmy 26 for a low. We just don't know cold. Looking forward to the next one.
