    First winter hang.

Well Last night I had my maiden voyage on my new Blackbird XLC with 20*burrow and incubator. Also had the superfly set up with the 2qzq underquilt protector. It took me a while to set up and get everything adjusted (although I think I could improve since it was the first time).

I had never before now hung in a hammock during winter and the coldest on my old hammock was low 40s with a slight dip into upper 30s. The temperature was in the low 20s with quite a bit of wind chill. I didn't have a thermometer however I expect it felt like 17 or 18 degrees give or take a few (burrr for me). I also tried the hot bottle in the hammock trick (boy does this work well).I have a new found huge respect for all you winter hangers out there.

I survived and it was a great hang minus the crazy fox sounds and sirens going off in the middle of the night. A big thanks to Brandon, Adam, and the team at 2QZQ for hooking me up with great products and getting them to me in time for a trip that in the end got postponed.

I am very excited for the spring hang and meeting all of you that will be there.

Here are some pics from yesterday afternoon and then later today.

Mighty fine setup you have there. Watch some of Shug's videos on YouTube because he's got the winter hanging stuff down pretty well. Lots of good tips throughout his material.

Way to go Lamboy. That looks like a nice slice of nature you have there as well.
