    Insulation fail

    Hey guys (and gals)

I attempted to make some insulation for my feet when I use a half sized under quilt from Enlightened Equipment. It seemed like a good idea, the problem was that I used glue to try and keep it together and the glue didn't hold after it was in the cold. I might try sewing it together I dont know. Let me know if you have any ideas...

If you're using the space blanket on the bottom, leave it out as it won't be radiating any heat through the foam.

Use Barges All Purpose Cement to edge glue the foam.....http://www.acehardware.com/product/i...ductId=1390196

Try using an adhesive that is meant for the foam - the hot glue gun stuff is meant for inanimate craft projects - it wasn't just the cold that made it come apart.

Hot glue works good on foam (check out Yoda's pot cozy thread), I suspect it was the mylar that wouldn't hold the glue.

Try silicone, stick to most anything, I recommend testing a small piece and exposing it to the cold, in the south I'd toss it in the freezer after it dried.

Thanks for the tips. I will think about it if I make another attempt.
