    Greetings from New Zealand

    Hi Team.

Cool site! I'm in the lower North Island on the west coast. I have a Hennessey Asym-Expedition, a throughly excellent piece of kit! You have no idea how I wished I'd had it 20 years ago! After a string or more or less (commonly less....) effective tents, I came across the Henny and it was love at 1st sight!

It took a couple of nights to *ahem* get the hang of it, now it's my go-to for solo trips in better weather. Sure, folk do snow camp in them, but not me. My other option for camping out is my very good but quite heavy Macpac Olympus tent, an 8lb bomb shelter of a tent I don't regret for a second buying. Still, it's either that or the Henny, stove and a week's marching rations.....not a difficult decision most of the time.

I like flyfishing, the occasional hunting trip and coast walk. Walking up a river for a few days and fishing as I go is a favorite.

I also like my retro and classic camping stoves, my previous collection mania. No cartridge stoves or complicated plastic parted 'latest and greatest' cookers for this ole boy! Old school rules!

Welcome from Florida. Here's an idea: you come hang with me in Florida and I'll show you the best hunting and fishing on the Gulf Coast. Then I'll come to your Island and you can return the favor :-)

Thanks for the welcome, folks! I Have 2 123's, one solo and one powering that Rolls Royce of cook sets, the Sigg Tourist. Also assorted Trangias, Optimus 111, a couple of other assorted brassies, the odd 2 burner suitcase etc. The hair pulling that goes into picking a stove for a trip!

I've hunted Mt Doom a couple of times, steep and windy. Orcs need a quick and confident snap shot at close range, I don't recommend anything lighter than a .300 WinMag.

Hunting Florida sounds good tho, throw in an airboat driving lesson and I'm there!
